UPSC ESE 2027 क्या है?
Engineering Services Examination (ESE) UPSC द्वारा आयोजित एक competitive examination है, जिसके माध्यम से engineering background वाले eligible candidates को विभिन्न Central Government engineering services/posts के लिए consider किया जाता है।
UPSC ESE 2027 में चार engineering categories शामिल हैं: Category I – Civil, Category II – Mechanical, Category III – Electrical, Category IV – Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering। भर्ती Preliminary/Stage-I, Main/Stage-II और Personality Test/Interview यानी Stage-III के आधार पर होगी।

Vacancy Details
इस बार Engineering Services Examination 2027 में approximately 480 vacancies expected हैं, जिनमें 19 vacancies Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) के लिए included हैं। Notification यह भी स्पष्ट करता है कि vacancy number बाद में change हो सकती है।
Recruitment मुख्य रूप से Civil, Mechanical, Electrical और Electronics & Telecommunication — इन चार disciplines में होगी। Vacancies पर applicable reservation Government rules के अनुसार SC, ST, OBC, EWS और PwBD categories के लिए होगा।

UPSC के अनुसार इन 10 topics से questions set होंगे और प्रत्येक topic का weight broadly 5% से 15% के बीच हो सकता है।
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidate India का citizen, Nepal का subject, Bhutan का subject, निर्धारित conditions के अनुसार Tibetan refugee, या specified countries से migrated person of Indian origin हो सकता है। कुछ categories के लिए Government of India द्वारा eligibility certificate की आवश्यकता हो सकती है।
Age Limit
ESE 2027 के लिए candidate की age 21 years से कम नहीं और 30 years से अधिक नहीं होनी चाहिए, और यह age 1 January 2027 को calculate की जाएगी। Candidate का जन्म 2 January 1997 से पहले और 1 January 2006 के बाद नहीं होना चाहिए।

Government servant की specific age relaxation service/department और post के आधार पर लागू होती है, इसलिए candidates को relevant rule carefully check करना चाहिए।
Educational Qualification
सामान्यतः candidate के पास Engineering degree या notification में स्वीकार की गई equivalent qualification होनी चाहिए। Accepted qualifications:
- Engineering Degree from a recognised university/institution
- Institution of Engineers (India) की specified Sections A & B qualification
- Recognised foreign engineering qualification
- Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers से specified qualification
- Aeronautical Society of India की specified qualification
- Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London की specified qualification
कुछ specific Electronics-related posts के लिए M.Sc. या equivalent qualifications भी prescribed हैं।
Final-Year Engineering Students
Notification ऐसे candidates को provisional basis पर apply करने की अनुमति देता है जिनकी qualifying examination complete हो चुकी है लेकिन result अभी declared नहीं हुआ है, या जो qualifying examination में appear करने वाले हैं।
लेकिन आगे Personality Test/Interview के लिए prescribed qualification का proof निर्धारित समय में देना जरूरी होगा। इसलिए final-year students को अपने examination status और result timeline को carefully check करना चाहिए।

- 2Universal Registration (URN) — यह केवल एक बार create करना होता है; Application Number examination-specific होता है

- 4Exam Specific Module — fee, examination centre, engineering discipline आदि details भरें
- 5Photograph Upload — prescribed format में photograph और live photograph capture करें

Exam Pattern
UPSC Engineering Services Examination तीन stages में आयोजित की जाएगी: Stage-I Preliminary, Stage-II Main और Stage-III Personality Test/Interview। Final ranking में इन सभी stages के marks का contribution रहेगा।

Civil, Mechanical, Electrical और Electronics & Telecommunication — सभी disciplines में Main stage के दोनों papers discipline-specific/conventional होंगे।
Stage-III: Personality Test
Maximum Marks: 200। Personality Test में केवल technical knowledge ही नहीं, बल्कि candidate की Leadership, Initiative, Intellectual curiosity, Tact, Social qualities, Practical application और Integrity of character जैसी qualities पर ध्यान दिया जाएगा।
Final Marks & Allocation
Final ranking Stage-I + Stage-II + Stage-III के marks से determine होगी। Candidates को services/posts उनके rank, preferences और available vacancies के आधार पर allot की जाएंगी, साथ में applicable medical fitness requirements भी देखी जाएंगी।

Selection Process
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination → Stage 2: Main Examination → Stage 3: Personality Test/Interview।
Preliminary में qualifying standard clear करने वाले candidates Main में जाते हैं। Main और Preliminary में prescribed qualifying standards पूरे करने के बाद candidates Personality Test के लिए बुलाए जाते हैं।
तैयारी कैसे करें?
ESE का syllabus technical और extensive है, इसलिए बिना planning के केवल books पढ़ना enough नहीं होता।

Admit Card, Answer Key & Helpdesk
e-Admit Card
Eligible candidates का e-Admit Card UPSC portal पर online उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा — generally examination से पहले preceding week के last working day पर। इसे post से send नहीं किया जाएगा। अगर लगभग एक सप्ताह पहले तक कोई communication नहीं मिलता, तो UPSC से contact करने की सलाह दी गई है।
Answer Key Representation
Exam के बाद Provisional Answer Keys पर representation देने का opportunity मिलेगा — यह facility केवल निर्धारित five-day window में online portal के माध्यम से उपलब्ध होगी। Email या post से भेजी गई representation accept नहीं होगी।
